Make tender, sweet, and savory glazed carrots quickly using your air fryer. This recipe provides a simple maple syrup coating for a perfect side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound carrots, peeled and trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the trimmed carrots into uniform 1-inch pieces.
  2. Place the cut carrots in a bowl and toss them with the olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
  4. Place the seasoned carrots in the air fryer basket in a single layer, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  5. Air fry for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove the basket and drizzle the maple syrup over the carrots. Toss gently to coat.
  7. Return the carrots to the air fryer and cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until the carrots are tender and the glaze is slightly sticky.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a glossy finish, do not add the maple syrup until the last few minutes of cooking. Adding it too early can cause the sugar to burn.
  • If your carrots are very thick, cut them into smaller pieces (about 3/4 inch) to ensure they cook through evenly.
  • You can substitute melted butter for the olive oil for a richer flavor.
