- 4 (6 ounce) cod fillets
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle lightly with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, ginger, and black pepper to make the sauce.
- Spoon half of the honey garlic sauce evenly over the top of the cod fillets.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time depends on the thickness of the fillets.
- Remove the fish from the oven. Brush the remaining sauce over the baked cod before serving immediately.
Notes
- To keep the cod moist, avoid overcooking. Check for doneness at 12 minutes.
- Serve this dish with steamed broccoli or quick-cooking rice for a complete meal.
- For extra flavor, you can broil the fish for the last 1-2 minutes after baking, watching closely to prevent burning the sauce.
