Prepare this fast and easy baked cod recipe featuring a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze. It is perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) cod fillets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle lightly with olive oil.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, ginger, and black pepper to make the sauce.
  4. Spoon half of the honey garlic sauce evenly over the top of the cod fillets.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time depends on the thickness of the fillets.
  6. Remove the fish from the oven. Brush the remaining sauce over the baked cod before serving immediately.

Notes

  • To keep the cod moist, avoid overcooking. Check for doneness at 12 minutes.
  • Serve this dish with steamed broccoli or quick-cooking rice for a complete meal.
  • For extra flavor, you can broil the fish for the last 1-2 minutes after baking, watching closely to prevent burning the sauce.
