Ingredients
Scale
4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Glaze:
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the fillets lightly with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and Dijon mustard until well combined.
Spoon or brush half of the glaze mixture evenly over the tops of the salmon fillets.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Brush the remaining glaze over the salmon.
Return the salmon to the oven and bake for another 3 to 6 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145 degrees Fahrenheit (63 degrees Celsius).
Remove from the oven and let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can broil the salmon for the last 1-2 minutes to slightly caramelize the glaze, watching carefully to prevent burning.
If you prefer a thicker glaze, simmer the glaze mixture on the stovetop for 2 minutes before applying the first half.
Serve this salmon with roasted asparagus or steamed rice.
