Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender buds
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
  • Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of water, blueberries, and lavender buds.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let steep for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing gently on the solids to extract all the juice. Discard the solids.
  5. Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water, lemon juice, and sugar to the pitcher.
  6. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  9. Serve over ice, garnished with fresh mint sprigs and lemon slices if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure you use culinary-grade lavender to avoid any bitter taste.
  • For a less sweet lemonade, reduce the amount of sugar.
  • You can prepare the blueberry-lavender syrup ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
