Instructions
Brown the butter: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Continue cooking, swirling often, until the milk solids toast and turn deep brown and the butter smells nutty. Immediately pour into a heatproof bowl to stop cooking and let it cool slightly (about 10 minutes).
In a large bowl, whisk the cooled brown butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours, for best texture.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
