2 slices of bread
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup sliced fresh mozzarella cheese
2-3 slices ripe tomato
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 teaspoon balsamic glaze
Instructions
Butter one side of each slice of bread.
Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in a skillet over medium heat.
Layer the shredded mozzarella, fresh mozzarella, tomato slices, and fresh basil on the bread.
Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the basil.
Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
Grill for 3-5 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
Slice in half and serve immediately.
Notes
Use good quality, ripe tomatoes for the best flavor.
Fresh basil is key to the Caprese taste.
Adjust the amount of cheese to your preference.
