Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (21 ounce) cans apple pie filling
  • 1 (12 ounce) jar caramel ice cream topping
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • ¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Chopped pecans or walnuts for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the apple pie filling into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  3. Drizzle the caramel ice cream topping generously over the apple pie filling.
  4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the caramel and apple layers.
  5. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, ensuring it covers as much of the dry mix as possible.
  6. If desired, sprinkle with ground cinnamon and chopped nuts.
  7. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

  • For an extra touch, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
  • You can use any flavor of cake mix you prefer, such as spice cake mix for a more autumnal flavor.
  • If you don’t have caramel ice cream topping, you can use homemade caramel sauce.
