Ingredients
Scale
3 pounds apples (about 6-7 medium), peeled, cored, and sliced
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread the apples evenly in a single layer on a 9×13 inch baking sheet.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt until a crumbly dough forms.
Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the apples.
Drizzle the caramel sauce over the topping.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
Let cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with extra caramel sauce if desired.
Notes
Choose firm apples like Honeycrisp, Gala, or Fuji for the best texture.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
