You will make a comforting and incredibly easy Chicken Bubble Biscuit Bake Casserole. This dish features tender chicken mixed in a creamy, cheesy sauce, topped with fluffy, pull-apart biscuit pieces that bake up golden brown. It is the perfect satisfying meal for a busy weeknight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken (rotisserie works great)
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (16.3 ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, condensed cream of chicken soup, milk, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.
  3. Stir in half of the shredded cheddar cheese (1/2 cup) into the chicken mixture.
  4. Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Open the can of biscuit dough. Cut each biscuit into four equal pieces. These are your ‘bubbles.’
  6. Arrange the biscuit pieces evenly over the top of the chicken mixture, leaving small spaces between them so they can expand.
  7. Brush the tops of the biscuits lightly with the melted butter.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Remove the casserole from the oven. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese over the hot biscuits immediately.
  10. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the sauce to set slightly.

Notes

  • Using pre-cooked rotisserie chicken saves you significant preparation time for this weeknight meal.
  • For extra flavor, you can add 1/4 cup of finely chopped cooked bacon bits to the chicken mixture.
  • If you prefer a tangier flavor, substitute half of the cheddar cheese with Monterey Jack.
  • If the biscuits start browning too quickly, loosely cover the dish with aluminum foil for the last 10 minutes of baking.
