Prepare your baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
Melt the chocolate. You can use a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each interval, until smooth. Add coconut oil if using.
Dip the pretzels into the melted chocolate, rotating to coat most of the pretzel evenly. Leave a small section bare if using rods for easy handling.
Place the dipped pretzels onto the prepared baking sheets. Work quickly before the chocolate sets.
Immediately add your desired festive toppings over the wet chocolate. Press gently if needed to adhere sprinkles or nuts.
Allow the chocolate to set completely. You can speed this up by placing the trays in the refrigerator for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Once fully set, the chocolate-covered pretzels are ready to serve or package for gifts.
Notes
Use high-quality melting chocolate for the best flavor and shine.
If the chocolate becomes too thick while dipping, gently reheat it briefly.
For a marbled effect, drizzle a second color of melted chocolate over the first layer before it sets.
Store finished pretzels in an airtight container at cool room temperature.
