1 tablespoon unsalted butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon hazelnut spread (like Nutella)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Melt the butter in a microwave-safe mug.
Add the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt to the mug. Stir to combine with a fork.
Pour in the milk, hazelnut spread, and vanilla extract.
Stir everything together until just combined and no dry spots remain. Be careful not to overmix.
Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds, or until the cake is cooked through but still moist. Cooking time may vary depending on your microwave.
Let it cool for a minute before enjoying directly from the mug.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can add a few chocolate chips to the batter.
If you don’t have hazelnut spread, you can use peanut butter or another chocolate spread.
Adjust microwave time as needed to prevent overcooking.
