You will make delightful Churro Cheesecake Bars using crescent roll dough for a simple, creamy dessert. These bars capture the warm cinnamon-sugar flavor of churros in a rich, baked cheesecake format. They are perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan. You want one solid layer.
  3. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust layer.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon for the topping.
  7. Melt the butter.
  8. Brush the melted butter over the cheesecake layer.
  9. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered top layer.
  10. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center is mostly set.
  11. Let the bars cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • You can use a 9×13 inch pan for thinner bars, but reduce the baking time slightly.
  • For extra creaminess, ensure your cream cheese is truly at room temperature.
  • This recipe works well with store-bought cinnamon-sugar topping if you prefer to skip mixing your own.
