Make a simple, indulgent dessert combining canned apple pie filling with a topping made from refrigerated cinnamon rolls.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (21 ounce) can refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with icing)
  • 1 (21 ounce) can pre-made apple pie filling
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Pour the entire can of apple pie filling into the prepared pie dish and spread it evenly.
  3. Open the can of cinnamon rolls. Separate the rolls and place them on top of the apple filling. Arrange them so they cover most of the surface, slightly overlapping if necessary.
  4. Brush the tops of the cinnamon rolls lightly with the melted butter.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cinnamon roll topping is golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove the pie from the oven. Immediately spread the icing packets that came with the cinnamon rolls over the hot topping.
  7. Let the pie cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can use a 9-inch pie plate or a similar-sized casserole dish for this recipe.
  • If the icing seems too thick, microwave it for 5 to 10 seconds to make it easier to drizzle.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon over the apples before adding the rolls.
