Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar, for coating
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a mini muffin tin or line it with mini muffin liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared mini muffin tin, filling each cup about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. While the donut holes are baking, combine the 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a shallow dish.
  8. Once the donut holes are baked, let them cool in the tin for a minute before transferring them to a wire rack.
  9. While still warm, gently toss the donut holes in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra moist donut hole, you can add 1 tablespoon of sour cream or yogurt to the batter.
  • If you don’t have a mini muffin tin, you can use a regular muffin tin, but the baking time will be longer.
  • These donut holes are best enjoyed fresh, but they can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
