A delightful twist on the classic Italian dessert, this Tiramisu recipe incorporates the smooth, creamy notes of Baileys Irish Cream, making it an irresistible adults-only treat. Layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a rich mascarpone cream are infused with a hint of Baileys for an extra layer of indulgence. Perfect for special occasions or when you want to add a touch of sophistication to your dessert spread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup Baileys Irish Cream
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 24-30 ladyfingers
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and Baileys Irish Cream. Set aside.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar. Place the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (making sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water). Whisk constantly until the mixture is pale yellow and thickened, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold the cooled egg yolk mixture into the mascarpone until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until no streaks remain.
  5. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee-Baileys mixture, ensuring they are moist but not soggy. Arrange a single layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture evenly over the ladyfingers.
  7. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone cream mixture.
  8. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
  9. Before serving, dust the top generously with unsweetened cocoa powder.

Notes

  • Ensure your coffee is strong and cooled completely before soaking the ladyfingers.
  • For a firmer set, you can add an extra hour of chilling time.
  • Adjust the amount of Baileys to your preference.
  • This dessert is best enjoyed within 2-3 days of preparation.
