A simple recipe to replicate the tangy, creamy dipping sauce served with the Bloomin’ Onion appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, and prepared horseradish in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the paprika, salt, black pepper, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder to the bowl.
  3. Whisk all ingredients together until the sauce is completely smooth and uniform in color.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to blend.

Notes

  • Use prepared horseradish, not creamed horseradish, for the correct flavor.
  • For a thicker sauce, reduce the amount of horseradish slightly.
  • You can substitute the cayenne pepper with a dash of hot sauce if you prefer.
  • This sauce works well with french fries, vegetable sticks, or crackers.
