Make this creamy, coconut-based Puerto Rican holiday drink. This Coquito recipe gives you that rich, spiced flavor perfect for any celebration. We skip the eggs for a smooth, simple treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (13.5 ounce) can full-fat coconut cream
  • 1 (15 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup white rum (adjust to your preference)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Combine the coconut cream, evaporated milk, and condensed milk in a blender. Blend until completely smooth.
  2. Add the rum, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves to the blender. Pulse a few times to mix well.
  3. Taste the mixture. Add more rum or spices if you desire a stronger flavor.
  4. Pour the Coquito into a clean glass bottle or pitcher.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Shake well before serving. Pour into small glasses.
  7. Garnish each serving with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.

Notes

  • For a thicker drink, use only coconut cream and skip the evaporated milk.
  • Adjust the amount of rum based on how strong you want your Coquito.
  • You can toast the cinnamon stick and nutmeg before grinding for a deeper flavor.
  • This keeps well in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
