Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fully cooked ham (about 8-10 pounds)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Orange zest from 1 orange

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Place the ham in a roasting pan.
  3. In a saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, ginger, and cloves.
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries have burst and the glaze has thickened, about 10-15 minutes.
  5. Stir in the orange zest.
  6. Score the ham in a diamond pattern.
  7. Brush about half of the glaze over the ham.
  8. Bake for 1 hour, basting with the remaining glaze every 20 minutes.
  9. If the glaze is too thick, add a little more orange juice.
  10. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • For a crispier glaze, broil the ham for the last 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • You can add a few orange slices to the roasting pan for extra flavor and aroma.
  • Leftover ham can be used in sandwiches, salads, or casseroles.
