Make a rich, satisfying creamy beef pasta quickly using a simple one-pot method perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 12 ounces dried pasta (penne or rotini work well)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Add the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the pot with the beef. Cook for 1 minute until the garlic is fragrant.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and add the dry pasta to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pot, and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is cooked through and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and butter until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream, though the sauce will be slightly thinner.
  • You can add 1/2 cup of frozen peas during the last 5 minutes of simmering for added color and nutrition.
  • Stir the Parmesan cheese in off the heat to prevent it from clumping.
