Make this incredibly simple and crowd-pleasing chili cheese dip using just three ingredients. It is perfect for game day, parties, or any time you need a fast, warm appetizer. You can prepare this on the stovetop or easily adapt it for your slow cooker.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • 1 (15 ounce) can chili (no beans preferred)
  • 1 pound Velveeta cheese, cubed

Instructions

  1. Combine the condensed cheese soup and canned chili in a medium saucepan.
  2. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until fully combined and starting to warm through.
  3. Add the cubed Velveeta cheese to the saucepan.
  4. Continue stirring gently until the Velveeta is completely melted and the dip is smooth and creamy. Do not let it boil.
  5. Serve immediately with your favorite dippers.
  6. For the slow cooker method: Combine all ingredients in a small slow cooker. Cook on low for 1 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally until smooth. Keep warm on the ‘Keep Warm’ setting for serving.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, substitute cream cheese for half of the Velveeta.
  • If the dip gets too thick while serving, stir in a tablespoon of milk to thin it slightly.
  • Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, celery sticks, or crusty bread for dipping.
  • If you prefer a spicier dip, use hot Velveeta or add a dash of hot sauce.
