Prepare this simple, no-cook breakfast the night before for a quick, healthy meal ready when you wake up. It uses berries and chia seeds for texture and flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (gluten-free if needed)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt or non-dairy alternative
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a jar or container with a lid, combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, milk, yogurt, sweetener (if using), and salt.
  2. Stir the mixture well until all ingredients are incorporated.
  3. Gently fold in the mixed berries. If using frozen berries, they will thaw overnight and release juice.
  4. Seal the container and place it in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
  5. In the morning, check the consistency. If it is too thick, add a splash more milk until you reach your preferred texture.
  6. Eat cold directly from the jar.

Notes

  • For a thinner consistency, increase the milk by 1 to 2 tablespoons.
  • If you prefer a sweeter taste, add a small drizzle of honey or maple syrup before serving.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To make this recipe vegan, use a plant-based milk (like almond or soy) and a non-dairy yogurt.
