Ingredients
Scale
1 pound fresh strawberries
8 ounces semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
Instructions
Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries. Ensure they are completely dry, as water can cause the chocolate to seize.
Place the chopped chocolate and coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler.
Hold each strawberry by the stem or leaves and dip it into the melted chocolate, coating about two-thirds of the berry.
Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.
Place the dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
If desired, drizzle with additional melted chocolate or sprinkle with toppings like chopped nuts or sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
Chill the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
Notes
Use good quality chocolate for the best flavor.
Experiment with different types of chocolate like milk chocolate or white chocolate.
For a more professional look, use a fork or a toothpick to swirl the chocolate.
