Ingredients
Scale
2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup beef broth
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Pat the steak cubes dry and season them with salt and pepper.
Place the seasoned steak cubes into the bottom of your slow cooker.
Pour the beef broth over the steak.
Scatter the pieces of butter evenly over the steak.
Add the minced garlic and Italian seasoning on top.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours, or on high for 1.5 to 2 hours, until the steak is tender.
Remove the lid during the last 15 minutes of cooking if you prefer a slightly thicker sauce, or leave it on for a thinner sauce.
Stir gently before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
Serve these steak bites over mashed potatoes or egg noodles to soak up the sauce.
For extra flavor, sear the steak cubes in a hot skillet for 1 minute per side before adding them to the slow cooker.
If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir this slurry into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
