Ingredients
Scale
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup cold water
Instructions
Combine flour, salt, and garlic powder in a food processor. Pulse briefly to combine.
Add cold butter and shredded cheddar cheese to the food processor. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
With the food processor running, slowly add cold water through the feed tube until a dough forms. Do not overmix.
Gather the dough into a ball, flatten slightly, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8-inch thickness.
Use a small fish-shaped cookie cutter (or any small shape) to cut out the crackers. Reroll scraps as needed.
Carefully transfer the cut-out crackers to the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Let the crackers cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
For extra cheesy flavor, use extra sharp cheddar.
Ensure butter and water are cold for a flaky texture.
Store homemade crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days.
Experiment with different cheese types like Parmesan or Gruyere for varied flavors.
