A quick and simple sweet and savory corn side dish cooked in a skillet, perfect for weeknight dinners or potlucks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups frozen or fresh corn kernels
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the corn kernels to the skillet. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the corn is heated through and slightly tender.
  3. Pour in the honey and stir to coat the corn evenly. Cook for 1 minute more.
  4. Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream or milk, salt, and pepper.
  5. Continue to cook gently for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the corn. Do not boil.
  6. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute canned corn for frozen, but drain it well before adding it to the skillet.
  • For a richer flavor, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a slight kick if desired.
