Ingredients
Scale
1 package (8 ounces) crescent roll dough
1/2 pound cooked breakfast sausage, crumbled
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Press the dough lightly to seal any perforations and form one large rectangle.
In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, crumbled sausage, and shredded cheddar cheese until fully combined.
Spread the sausage and cheese mixture evenly over the surface of the dough rectangle.
Starting from one of the long sides, tightly roll the dough into a log.
Use a sharp knife to slice the log into 1/2-inch thick pinwheels.
Place the pinwheels cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between them.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the filling is hot.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
You can use puff pastry instead of crescent rolls for a different texture.
Ensure the cream cheese is very soft for easy spreading.
For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder to the cheese mixture.
