Make fast, crispy mini pizzas using English muffins. This recipe works well in the oven or air fryer and is ready in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 English muffins, split
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Optional toppings: pepperoni slices, cooked sausage, sliced mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the split English muffins, cut-side up, on a baking sheet or in the air fryer basket.
  3. Lightly toast the muffins for 2-3 minutes until they feel slightly firm. This step helps prevent sogginess.
  4. Spread about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly over the cut side of each muffin half.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and oregano over the sauce.
  6. Add your desired toppings, keeping them light to maintain crispness.
  7. For the oven: Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. For the air fryer: Cook for 5-7 minutes, checking frequently, until the cheese is melted.
  9. Remove from the heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, lightly brush the cut sides of the muffins with olive oil before adding sauce.
  • Use this base recipe to try breakfast pizza by topping with a fried egg and bacon instead of sauce and mozzarella.
  • If using the air fryer, work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the basket.
