Spicy grilled shrimp skewers with a fiery kick, perfect for summer parties. These ‘firecracker’ shrimp offer an explosion of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sriracha, ginger, garlic, red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
  2. Add the shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated shrimp onto the soaked wooden skewers.
  5. Grill the shrimp skewers for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more sriracha or red pepper flakes.
  • You can also broil these shrimp skewers in the oven.
  • Serve with a cooling dip like a cucumber yogurt sauce.
