Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ahi Tuna steaks
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the ahi tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter with olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Carefully place the tuna steaks into the hot skillet.
  5. Sear the tuna for 1-2 minutes per side for rare, or longer depending on your desired doneness.
  6. Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a minute.
  7. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a medium-rare tuna, aim for about 1.5 minutes per side.
  • You can add a squeeze of lemon juice to the pan just before serving for extra brightness.
