Ingredients
Scale
1 pound cremini mushrooms, cleaned and halved or quartered
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Instructions
Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the mushrooms to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until they release their liquid and start to brown, about 5 to 7 minutes.
Add the minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic burn.
Pour in the broth. Let it bubble and reduce slightly, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. This process helps the mushrooms absorb flavor.
Stir in the fresh parsley. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
Serve immediately as a warm, flavorful side dish.
Notes
For the best flavor absorption, use fresh, firm mushrooms.
You can substitute olive oil for some of the butter if you prefer a lighter taste.
Taste the mushrooms before adding extra salt; the broth may already contain some sodium.
