Flavorful meatballs coated in a smoky, spicy harissa glaze. Perfect for a quick and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup harissa paste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  4. If baking, place meatballs on a baking sheet. If pan-frying, add a tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet.
  5. Cook meatballs for about 10-12 minutes, or until browned on all sides.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together harissa paste, olive oil, honey, and lemon juice.
  7. Pour the harissa glaze over the meatballs.
  8. If baking, return the baking sheet to the oven for another 5-7 minutes, or until the glaze is bubbly and the meatballs are cooked through. If pan-frying, stir the meatballs in the glaze for 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Notes

  • Serve immediately.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley if desired.
