Make these festive Holiday Cranberry Meatballs for your next gathering. The sweet and tangy cranberry glaze makes them a perfect appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup whole cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Roll the mixture into small, uniform meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for 15-20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs bake, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, whisk together the cranberry sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice.
  6. Heat the glaze over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth and warm. Do not boil.
  7. Remove the baked meatballs from the oven.
  8. Gently toss the warm meatballs in the cranberry glaze until fully coated.
  9. Return the glazed meatballs to the baking sheet or transfer them to a serving dish. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use frozen, pre-cooked meatballs to save time.
  • For an extra layer of flavor, add a pinch of ground cloves to the glaze.
  • If you prefer a thicker glaze, simmer it for a few extra minutes after the sugar dissolves.
