Enjoy warm, bakery-style chocolate chip muffins, perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat. This recipe is simple to follow and brings a touch of homemade joy to your day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 12-cup muffin tin or line it with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  8. Let the muffins cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra moist muffins, you can add 1/4 cup of sour cream or plain yogurt to the wet ingredients.
  • If you prefer larger chocolate chunks, chop a chocolate bar instead of using chips.
  • These muffins are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
