Ingredients
Scale
6 cups fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
3/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of the granulated sugar, 1/4 cup of flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Toss gently to coat the peaches evenly.
Pour the peach mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup of flour, the remaining 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Spoon dollops of the batter evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbly.
Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra special treat.
You can use frozen peaches if fresh ones are not available, but be sure to thaw and drain them well.
Adjust the amount of sugar based on the sweetness of your peaches.
