You can make a satisfying, cheesy, meaty lasagna without the fuss. This lazy lasagna casserole uses frozen ravioli, skipping the messy layering and boiling noodles. It delivers classic comfort food flavor fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (25 ounce) package frozen cheese ravioli
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Brown the ground beef or sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce, water, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder into the skillet with the meat. Season with salt and pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese until combined.
  5. Spread half of the meat sauce mixture in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  6. Arrange the frozen ravioli in a single layer over the sauce.
  7. Dollop the ricotta mixture evenly over the ravioli layer.
  8. Pour the remaining meat sauce over the ricotta and ravioli.
  9. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  10. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through. Let it stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute frozen meat ravioli for a heartier dish.
  • Use your favorite jarred sauce brand for best flavor.
