Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 (10 ounce) packages frozen french fries
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup diced jalapeños (optional)
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned. Drain off excess fat.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until sauce has thickened.
  4. While the beef is cooking, bake french fries according to package directions until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Spread the cooked fries on a large baking sheet.
  6. Spoon the seasoned ground beef over the fries.
  7. Sprinkle both shredded cheeses evenly over the beef and fries.
  8. Bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from oven and top with cilantro, red onion, jalapeños (if using), salsa, and sour cream.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy your loaded nacho fries!

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add a dash of hot sauce to your sour cream.
  • You can substitute the ground beef with shredded chicken or a plant-based ground for a different flavor.
  • If you prefer a spicier topping, add some chopped pickled jalapeños.
