This Mediterranean Tuna Salad is a vibrant and flavorful twist on classic tuna salad. It features fresh ingredients like olives, feta, red onion, and a zesty lemon-herb vinaigrette, making it a sophisticated and healthy lunch option.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (5 ounce) cans tuna in olive oil, drained
  • 1/2 cup pitted Kalamata olives, halved
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Flake the drained tuna into a medium bowl.
  2. Add the halved Kalamata olives, crumbled feta cheese, finely diced red onion, chopped fresh parsley, and chopped fresh dill to the bowl with the tuna.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to create the vinaigrette.
  4. Pour the vinaigrette over the tuna mixture.
  5. Gently toss all ingredients until well combined.
  6. Serve immediately in a wrap, over salad greens, or in a pita.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use high-quality tuna packed in olive oil.
  • Adjust the amount of red onion to your preference; you can soak it in ice water for 10 minutes to reduce its pungency.
  • Fresh herbs are preferred for the best flavor, but dried herbs can be used in a pinch (use half the amount of dried herbs compared to fresh).
