Make quick, fudgy protein balls that taste like rich brownie batter without using an oven. These are simple to prepare for a convenient snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup oat flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate protein powder (whey or plant-based)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the oat flour, protein powder, cocoa powder, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Whisk until all dry ingredients are fully mixed.
  2. Add the peanut butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients.
  3. Mix with a sturdy spoon or spatula until a thick, uniform dough forms.
  4. If the mixture seems too dry, add almond milk one tablespoon at a time until the dough holds together when pressed.
  5. If the mixture is too sticky, add one tablespoon of oat flour or protein powder.
  6. Fold in the mini chocolate chips, if using.
  7. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls. You should get about 12 to 15 balls.
  8. Place the finished balls on a parchment-lined plate or tray.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up before serving.

Notes

  • Use a high-quality dark cocoa powder for the best brownie flavor.
  • If you prefer a keto version, substitute maple syrup with a zero-calorie liquid sweetener and use a keto-friendly protein powder.
  • Store the finished balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
