1 tablespoon olive oil
4 (6-ounce) boneless pork chops
salt and black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 medium apples, cored and sliced
1/4 cup apple cider
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season pork chops with salt, pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Sear pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side, until browned. Remove pork chops from skillet and set aside.
Add sliced apples to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, until slightly softened.
Pour in apple cider and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
Return pork chops to the skillet, nestle them among the apples.
Cover and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until pork is cooked through and apples are tender.
Notes
For a sweeter dish, use sweeter apple varieties like Fuji or Honeycrisp.
For a more savory flavor, consider adding a pinch of dried sage.
