A quick and easy one-pot beef and peppers skillet recipe that’s perfect for a weeknight meal. This flavorful dish comes together in about 20 minutes.

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 bell peppers (any color), sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sliced onion and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender.
  4. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet. Add the beef to the other side and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil.
  7. Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables. Stir well to combine and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can use any cut of beef that is good for stir-frying, such as flank steak or skirt steak.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like broccoli florets or snap peas.
  • Adjust the amount of brown sugar to your preference for sweetness.
