Bake rich, fudgy brownies with a delightful surprise center by stuffing them with whole Oreo cookies. This recipe delivers an intensely chocolatey experience with a creamy, crunchy hidden treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 package (about 14.3 ounces) Oreo cookies

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chopped unsweetened chocolate together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.
  3. Whisk the granulated sugar and brown sugar into the chocolate mixture.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  6. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
  7. Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Arrange the Oreo cookies in a single layer over the batter. You can slightly press them down.
  9. Spoon the remaining batter over the Oreos, spreading carefully to cover them completely.
  10. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. A toothpick inserted near the edge should come out with moist crumbs, but the center should still look slightly underbaked for a fudgy texture.
  11. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting them out using the parchment overhang. Cut into squares and enjoy your fudgy surprise!

Notes

  • For extra fudginess, slightly underbake the brownies by a few minutes.
  • You can use any flavor of Oreo cookie you prefer.
  • Ensure the batter fully covers the Oreos to prevent them from burning.
