Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large bell peppers
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
  4. Add the sliced onion, green bell pepper, and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Stuff the bell peppers evenly with the cheesesteak mixture.
  7. Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef.
  • Add your favorite steak seasoning for extra flavor.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
