Ingredients
Scale
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
1-2 tablespoons maple syrup or sugar (to taste)
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, plus more for garnish
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1/2 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee
Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
Combine pumpkin puree, maple syrup or sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until warm and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
Whisk in the milk until heated through but not boiling.
Remove from heat. Use an immersion blender or transfer to a regular blender to froth the milk mixture until foamy.
Pour the brewed espresso or strong coffee into a mug.
Pour the frothed pumpkin milk mixture over the coffee.
Top with whipped cream and an extra sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice, if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade pumpkin spice latte.
Notes
Adjust the amount of sweetener to your preference.
For extra froth, you can use a milk frother.
If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, you can make your own by combining cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
