Make your own pumpkin spice simple syrup. It is easy to make. This syrup adds autumn flavor to drinks and desserts. It is perfect for lattes, cocktails, or drizzling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  1. Combine water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice to the saucepan. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld and the syrup to thicken slightly.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Let the syrup cool completely.
  5. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any pumpkin solids. This makes the syrup smooth.
  6. Pour the strained syrup into a clean, airtight bottle or jar. Store it in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of pumpkin pie spice to your taste.
  • For a thinner syrup, simmer for less time. For a thicker syrup, simmer for longer.
  • Try adding a pinch of black pepper or a slice of fresh ginger for a unique twist.
  • Use this syrup in coffee, tea, cocktails, or over pancakes and ice cream.
