Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb tuna steak
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  2. Pat the tuna steak dry with paper towels.
  3. Press the sesame seeds onto all sides of the tuna steak.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Sear the tuna steak for 1-2 minutes per side, until the edges are golden brown and the center is still rare.
  6. Slice the tuna steak and serve immediately with the dipping sauce.

  • You can toast the sesame seeds before coating the tuna for a deeper flavor.
  • Feel free to add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the dipping sauce for a little heat.
