Enjoy a delicious and easy Sesame Ginger Tofu Stir-Fry, perfect for a weeknight meal. Crispy tofu and fresh vegetables are tossed in a savory Asian-inspired sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 block (14 ounces) extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil, divided
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1/4 cup stir-fry sauce (recipe below)
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with soy sauce and cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the tofu and cook until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove tofu from skillet and set aside.
  4. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of sesame oil to the skillet.
  5. Add the grated ginger and minced garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add the broccoli florets, sliced red bell pepper, and julienned carrot to the skillet.
  7. Stir-fry the vegetables for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp.
  8. Return the crispy tofu to the skillet.
  9. Pour the stir-fry sauce over the tofu and vegetables.
  10. Toss everything together to coat evenly and heat through for 1-2 minutes.
  11. Serve immediately over cooked rice, garnished with toasted sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For extra crispy tofu, ensure you press out as much water as possible.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like snap peas, mushrooms, or water chestnuts.
  • Adjust the amount of ginger and garlic to your preference.
