A quick and flavorful one-pan meal featuring tender shrimp and crisp asparagus sautéed in a bright citrus-butter sauce. Perfect for a speedy springtime dinner.

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes for a touch of heat

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the asparagus to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  4. Push the asparagus to one side of the skillet. Add the butter to the other side.
  5. Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through.
  7. Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp and asparagus. Toss to combine.
  8. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  9. Serve immediately.

  • Adjust the amount of garlic and lemon juice to your preference.
