1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 tablespoon milk
Instructions
In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add the melted butter, molasses, and milk. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
If using, stir in the chopped dates.
Microwave on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes, or until the cake is set. Cooking time may vary depending on your microwave.
While the cake is cooking, prepare the topping by whisking together the melted butter, brown sugar, and milk in a small bowl.
