Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16 ounce) package pound cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and lemon juice. Let sit for 15 minutes to macerate.
  2. While strawberries are macerating, prepare the whipped cream. In a large bowl, beat heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue beating until stiff peaks form.
  4. To assemble the trifles, layer 1-2 tablespoons of pound cake cubes at the bottom of each serving cup.
  5. Top the cake with a spoonful of macerated strawberries.
  6. Add a generous dollop of whipped cream.
  7. Repeat layers of cake, strawberries, and whipped cream until the cups are full, ending with whipped cream.
  8. Garnish with a few extra strawberry slices if desired.
  9. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought pound cake or angel food cake for convenience.
  • For a richer flavor, you can add a tablespoon of cream cheese to the whipped cream mixture.
  • Adjust the sugar in the strawberries to your preference.
