1 pound ground chicken
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
4 large lettuce leaves (such as butter or romaine)
2 tablespoons chopped peanuts, for garnish
1 tablespoon chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
In a skillet, cook ground chicken over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Add teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet.
Stir well to combine and cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and coats the chicken.
Spoon the teriyaki chicken mixture into the lettuce leaves.
Garnish with chopped peanuts and green onions.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute firm tofu for chicken.
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
You can add other vegetables like shredded carrots or water chestnuts for extra crunch.
